Add authenticity to your next production! Fortress will train actors in proper firearms handling customized to their specific role. From basic gun handling to SWAT and Military team tactics, Fortress will add new level of realistic firearms deployment to your next dramatization. Film, stage, television, commercials.

The movie and television industry has been notorious for its improper gun handling and misrepresentation of firearms use, especially that of police officers and Federal Agents. Films such as Collateral, Heat and Way of the Gun, are lauded in their realistic portrayals, but such films are few and far in-between.

With gun ownership at an all-time high in the US, the American movie going public is becoming more sophisticated with regard to firearms, and is expecting a higher standard. Making the investment in providing your cast members with authentic firearms skills will increase your bottom line!

From modern to muzzle loader, Fortress will meet your specific needs. Training may be accomplished with live and/or replica firearms.

Teaching Points Include:

  • Proper grip
  • Correct trigger finger discipline
  • Proper tactical movement with shotguns and rifles
  • Loading, reloading and chamber checks
  • Room Clearing
  • Deployment from vehicles
  • Team tactics
  • Gun fighting in concert with hand-to-hand techniques

Fortress Instructors are also available as on-set advisors for scenes involving firearms, as well as performing as extras should you need actors pre-trained personnel ready to work with prop firearms. We can provide a full SWAT Team or Military squad unit to augment your production.

Occasionally an actor will be interviewed and asked about their gun training…

“Apparently, I’m very good at firing a gun without blinking, which is unusual. That’s why so many action characters have to wear sunglasses during shoot-out scenes. That’s my party trick.” – Kate Beckinsale

“My cousin cleaned out a shotgun for me and let me carry it around the house, because he said, ‘Anybody who knows anything about guns is going to know in a second if someone has held a gun before.’ I didn’t want to be that person. I wanted to be practiced.” – Jennifer Lawernce

Fortress has a cure for this problem.
