Innovation in  defensive ammunition has made great strides over the last 20-years, however, it has mostly consisted of improvement on existing designs through application of refined metallurgy and more precise manufacturing techniques – in other words, effort is geared towards making a better hollow point.

There have been a few attempts in new bullet designs, but most have not performed as hoped.

…until now!

Test rounds we’ll be running – 9mm +P, 90-grain Monolithic.

Lehigh Defense has produce a phenomenal solid bullet design in both their Xtreme Penetrator and Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithics. The results of gel testing have been outstanding, with almost unbelievable wound channels.

Below is a video Lehigh produced. (But don’t just take their word for it, there are a number of other tests by independent parties posted on Youtube, check them out.)

We’ll be conducting our own tests over the next few months, but we don’t expect the results to differ. The Xtreme Defense round looks to be a great choice for carry, and solves the majority of barrier and over-penetration issues citizens and LE face.
