The true nature of evil is that it is so very casual – James St. James
On September 27th, 2015, I posted an opinion piece titled ‘No Second Chances’, offering my commentary on a then recent attack of a Lansing, IL, woman by a scripture-like example of pure evil incarnate.
This week, a little over 3 years later, the demon was finally sentenced to life in prison.
In court he was quoted as saying:
“I don’t smile when I think about what happened. It bothered me because that’s not that person I am, especially when it comes to doing something to a woman,” he said. “I thank God every day that Diane got up that day. I thank God that she’s alive. I was scandalous toward her. I was rotten.”
If you buy that, his behavior in jail suggested otherwise. In April of 2017 he managed to lock himself in the office of a case worker at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, holding her hostage with a prison shank. 4 strands of cord made from bed sheets were found hidden in his socks…you know, for tying someone up. Like a woman you want to rape in her office.
Regarding her time off work and PTSD issues, the caseworker was quoted as saying:
“I thought I was going to lose my mind. I could not shake that evil I felt in my bones and saw in his eyes.”
Well, she got that right.
In a nation that is working tirelessly to promote weakness and victim-hood as a way of life, opinions and advice like mine are generally ignored. But, for those few willing to explore the realities of personal responsibility on planet Earth, the conclusion is clear: You are on your own!
I say again, justice only happens in real time. The only justice that was possible in this case was if the attacker had received a proper serving of 9mm Lehigh in his upper thorax the second he raised a hammer towards his intended victim. Instead, we have a permanently disabled woman suffering indescribable physical and emotional pain for the rest of her life, and a vile monster being housed and fed at the expense of the taxpayers for the rest of his. And, as if that’s not enough, we have a bonus victim he managed to terrorize while he was in lock up.
There has been NO justice, here. There never will be.
The universe has offered us another lesson learned in blood, we ignore it at our own peril.
The sole certainty is that the world as it is awaits us every day. It does not give notice of the challenges it will present, but rather tests us and renders judgment….ready or not. – Dr. William April
